Outliner V0.8.2 beta

There are some usability enhancements in this release and a big speed kick by moving the datasaving to the  background. And there was a nasty bug leading to the lost of the latest changes of an activity in some circumstances. I apologize for that.

Changes 0.8.2:

• no more soft keyboard opening on activity edit (hopefully on all devices now)
• warning if Outline name is empty
• prettify activity edit
• configure the font size of activity notes (Settings)
• further preparation for syncing to Natara Bonsai (Beta Test)
• further improved speed when editing large outlines
• hide note line in activity list when note is empty
• due date button, add more choices (clear/today/tomorrow/week/month)
• Fix: occasional force close with lost changes when turning device (sorry Willem for that)
• Fix: changes sometimes not saved if Outliner killed by Android due to low memory

Tip:
You can configure each Outline separately. Use a long click on an Outline in the list of Outlines or use the menu in the activity list to reach the configure dialog. You also see this dialog when you add a new Outline.

Outliner V0.8.1 beta

This release is mainly a bug fix version with fixes and small improvements.

The beta tester group works on testing the sync to Natara Bonsai. Thanks to the Beta Testers for the great work!

Changes 0.8.1:

• switch between portrait and landscape in activity list
• back button always saves the data
• configure tiny font for activity list (Config Outline)
• import Bonsai, always use US locale for dates

• Fix: failure when adding an acitvity as sibling of a subtree (bug introduced in V0.8.0)

Tip:
Depending on the size of your fingers and the resolution of your phone it can be difficult to correctly hit the buttons in the list. You my accidentally start editing an activity instead of expanding a sub-tree.
To avoid this you can tell the system to enlarge the size of the buttons by surrounding them with empty space. Try the different values and choose the one being the best compromise between wasted room and good usability. This is found in "Settings, Button Padding".

Outliner V0.8.0 beta

This version adds some enhancements when importing Outlines from Natara Bonsai.

And it adds the possibility to temporarily peek into the notes of an activity by choosing the context menu in the activity list without opening the edit dialog. And you can configure (Settings) how many lines of a note are shown in the actvity list (if notes are shown at all).

The beta tester group now has a version which syncs to Natara Bonsai. After finding all the bugs (I am quite sure that there are some) it will reach the market as well. Please be patient.

• import Bonsai OTL, preserve collapse state

Tip:
The toDo view only makes sense if you have due dates in your outline. The Back button brings you to the list of Outlines. Via Menu button you switch back to the list of activities.

Outliner V0.7.5 beta

This version brings a better usability when navigating and clicking in the activity tree. It is now easier to hit a row and you also get a visual feedback now. And you can use your d-pad or keyboard to navigate in the tree. Use left/right to toggle collapse/expand. Try click and long click.


Changes 0.7.4:

• CSV import/export UTF-8 to choose (check tutorial)
• hide menus meaningless in context
• better usability clicking activity tree
• expand/collapse/click/longClick with d-pad
• Fix: due date shifts back one day in several time zones

Tip:
Bonsai CSV import uses the character set for most western languages (ISO-8859-1). If you work with other character sets like russian or japanese and you want to import or export CSVs, it is better to use a general character set which understands all languages. This is why Outliner also exports and imports CSVs with "UTF-8" character set now. Please check the tutorial.

Outliner V0.7.3 beta

The new version brings more possibilities to configure the font sizes and some bug fixes.

• automatic capitalization in fields
• configure font size in activity list (Config. Outline)

Tip: Most of the configuration options are per Outline. This means, that for instance you are able to show the finish-checkbox in your todo-list but hide it in your memo-list.
Tip: CSV import is only useful if you have a CSV-file matching the format, Outliner can import. Check the tutorial for a description.

Outliner V0.7.2 beta

There is a new version in the Market hopefully respecting some of your suggestions.
Thank you for all the hints and comments and the encouragement.

If you had troubles importing due dates by the CSV import, there is a possibility now to choose the format of dates in the CSV. Check the content your CSV-file and select the appropriate date format in the import dialog.

Enjoy the release and have a good time :)

Tip: If you press RETURN in quick edit mode within an activity-title, a new activity is generated as a successor of the actual one.
